Here are the 2 octave major scales in the keys of G and C with root position, 1st, and 2nd inversion. Root Position means that you are playing the scale from it’s root (G in the key of G, C in the key of C) up to it’s octave (2 octaves in this case) and back to it’s root. 1st Inversion means that you are playing the scale from the next chord tone of the major triad (the 3rd, or B in the key of G and E in the key of C). 2nd Inversion means that you are playing the scale from the next chord tone again (the 5th, or D in the key of G and G in the key of C).
I start with the lowest inversion available on the mandolin neck. This is why G starts in Root Position but the the C scales start with the 2nd Inversion. Find the inversion for the major scales of all the other keys and practice them using the same shapes.
