Mel Bays website describes Mandolin Techniques 1 as intermediate-difficult and Mandolin Techniques 2 as intermediate. I have played guitar for decades but am new to the Mandolin. Which book would you recommend?

I would definitely recommend book 1. Book 2 has no text and is just a book of studies or etudes.
